All attention is fixed on India’s ambitious lunar pursuit, Chandrayaan-3, primed to execute a gentle touchdown on the Moon’s surface on Wednesday, August 23rd. Amid the mounting excitement surrounding Chandrayaan-3’s impending landing, the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has been actively sharing imagery of the Moon, captured by the Lander named Vikram.

ISRO has also unveiled a captivating video showcasing the lunar far side region, captured by the Lander Position Detection Cameras (LPDF) from an altitude of approximately 70 km. These breathtaking images were taken on August 19th.

Additionally, the Lander Hazard Detection and Avoidance Camera (LHDAC) documented the lunar far side area.

With bated breath, India awaits the opportunity to stake its claim as the first nation to successfully reach the Moon’s southern pole. ISRO has been providing regular mission updates since its initial launch in July.

Images of the Moon, taken by the Lander Position Detection Camera (LPDC) onboard the spacecraft, were released by ISRO on August 15, 2023.

On August 20th, ISRO shared a video offering a close-up perspective of Earth’s solitary satellite. This footage, captured by the Lander Imager Camera 4 aboard the spacecraft, showcases the Moon in all its glory.

Launched from Sriharikota on July 14th at 2:35 pm, the Chandrayaan-3 spacecraft is slated to execute a gentle landing at 06:04 pm on August 23rd.
