India’s Chandrayaan-3 has achieved a triumphant lunar landing on the moon’s southern pole, marking a significant milestone. This accomplishment positions India as the fourth nation, following the United States, China, and the former Soviet Union, to softly touch down on the lunar surface. The nation exuberantly observed this historic lunar landing with widespread festivities and devout prayers. The Chandrayaan-3 expedition was initiated on July 14 from Sriharikota.
Guided by a meticulous plan, the Vikram lander commenced its descent towards the moon’s terrain at a velocity of 1.68 kilometers per second. Gradually decelerating, it meticulously executed a controlled vertical descent, ultimately touching down gently on the lunar landscape.
