You Are the Creator of Your Life: How Would You Explain This?

We often hear the phrase, “You are the creator of your life.” How would you explain this?

Indeed, you are the creator of your life. To make it feel less burdensome, you could also say you are the co-creator of your life with the Universe. When life aligns with your expectations, when external events are manageable, and when people behave as you hope, you may not fully realize your role in shaping your life. But you are creating your life even in those moments because your positive beliefs and feelings contribute to your desired outcomes.

The real challenge arises when external events don’t meet your expectations. In such cases, your beliefs and feelings still play a crucial role, often creating negative results. Let’s understand this with some examples:

A) If you feel worried about your child’s education, it’s due to unmet needs such as certainty, safety, or assurance. The underlying belief might be, “I need to be absolutely sure my child will pass this exam, and if I don’t know the future, I am entitled to feel worried and powerless.”

B) If you feel lonely because your friends are no longer in touch and you lack family support in your business, it’s because your needs for love, belonging, or safety are unmet. The associated belief might be, “I am not self-sufficient and need others’ validation to feel loved. If people don’t love me, something is wrong with me.”

C) If you feel anxious about not finding a suitable house despite your efforts, it’s due to unmet needs for stability, security, or peace. The belief might be, “At 35, I should have my own house. Since I don’t, I am not worthy enough, and my achievements are measured by material possessions.”

A repeated thought becomes a belief, producing feelings that lead to actions and behaviors, ultimately attracting corresponding results. Changing your feelings puts you in control of your life. If you are unaware of your predominant feelings, you will lead a life by default, not by design.

Self-Sabotaging Behaviors in the Workplace

What are some self-sabotaging behaviors that people can become aware of and avoid to reduce negativity at work?

Let’s understand this with examples:

A) Blaming your environment, work, or colleagues without self-reflection invites more misery into your life. B) Focusing only on negatives without acknowledging positives trains your mind to attract more negativity at the workplace. C) Believing that low-vibration people who gossip or deceive always put you in a negative state, without taking responsibility for healing yourself, invites more misery. Not grounding yourself, protecting your aura, spending time in nature, speaking to a support system, or processing negative emotions are mistakes to avoid. D) Not exercising positive self-talk when surrounded by negativity causes you to lose your power.

Avoiding these basic mistakes can help you deal with workplace negativity more effectively.

Advice for Frustrated Job Seekers

Many job seekers feel frustrated when they can’t manifest their desired job and face multiple rejections. What advice would you give them?

When you focus on the interviewer who doesn’t hire you and constantly worry about why they haven’t hired you, you lose your power. Repeated rejections can make you feel entitled and frustrated. Checking your email frequently and feeling desperate as if the interviewers owe you something is natural but counterproductive.

These feelings affect how you network, update your LinkedIn profile, appear for the next interview, and notice new opportunities. Feeling lack, desperation, and frustration diminishes your ability to create new possibilities. Stop hyper-focusing on those who haven’t responded. Instead, meditate on your thoughts. Identify and eliminate thoughts creating feelings of lack, desperation, and frustration.

Nurture new thoughts that make you feel good, as they propel you to take empowered and aligned actions, which are always better than just any action.

Overcoming Self-Doubt for Professionals

Self-doubt is common, especially for professionals. One day, someone might be highly confident, and the next day, they could be crippled by self-doubt. What can they do in such a case?

The best way to deal with self-doubt is to introspect deeply and kindly. Ask yourself these questions to silence self-doubt:

  1. What’s hidden behind the doubt?
  2. How hard are you being on yourself?
  3. What’s your identity when you make self-doubt your world?
  4. What would you do if you didn’t fear failing?
  5. What’s the worst that could happen if you try?
  6. What’s the best that could happen if you try?
  7. What advice would you give a friend in this situation?
  8. What small step can you take right now?
  9. What have you already accomplished that earlier felt impossible?
  10. Who would you be if you didn’t let self-doubt control you?

Answering these questions provides clarity. Remind yourself that it’s okay to doubt yourself; it’s natural. Don’t let it stop you. With pure intentions to find solutions, you can make your life uncomplicated and design your own life, rather than living by default.
