WhatsApp has recently introduced the option to send video messages, and now the Meta-owned platform is working on a new UI change. According to reports, WhatsApp is rolling out a fresh interface for call notifications.
The new call notifications interface has been introduced for Android beta testers in WhatsApp’s latest beta update version 2.23.16.14. This experimental interface features icons on the buttons for accepting or declining incoming calls, making it easier for users to understand the actions.
Currently, the new call notifications interface is available to some beta testers, but it is expected to be released for all users soon.
In addition to this development, WhatsApp has also launched a standalone app for Android smartwatches running on Google’s Wear OS. With this dedicated app, smartwatch users can conveniently respond to messages and make VoIP calls directly from their wrists. The app allows users to send text, emojis, predefined responses, and even create voice messages, all without the need for a constant connection to their phone.
Google officially introduced this stand-alone WhatsApp app for Wear OS during its annual developer conference, I/O 2023, which took place in May.
